Crystal is responsible for leading and influencing P&G’s global diversity and inclusion communication efforts that drive greater equity and equality. Crystal works across a rapidly evolving media landscape to authentically reflect and represent the diverse consumers P&G serves. Crystal joined P&G in 1999, as an analytical chemist in the Food and Beverages Research & Development group. To expand her desire to innovate, Crystal transitioned to one of P&G’s largest business sectors, North America Fabric & Home Care. While working in this area, she had major responsibilities for North America Textile Technology and Industry Standards, which included reapplying emerging textile technology and product formulation to deliver new P&G products.

In 2004, Crystal took a broadening assignment in Communications to bring her strengths of innovative thinking and strong people skills, built on the foundation of technical expertise, to influence consumers and health professionals alike to consider P&G Personal Health, Oral Care, Hair Care, and Beauty brands. Crystal’s unique background and journey enabled her to lead her brands through crises and issues, develop breakthrough influencer marketing programs before it was mainstream, interface and build advocacy with media, establish product trust and credibility with consumers, and drive media and entertainment innovation.

Although, a chemist by training, Crystal has found her career passion and purpose in driving Diversity and Inclusion inside and outside of P&G. Crystal believes this is one of her most rewarding assignments because it requires bold, transformative, and authentic storytelling, rooted in undeniable consumer and cultural truths. By surrounding herself with diverse groups of people, sharing thoughts and ideas, and being a lover of all cultures, including popular-culture, she has delivered groundbreaking history-making work, such as, “The Talk” - one of P&G’s most decorated campaigns.

Based off this work, Crystal has been identified by the Holmes Report as one of North America’s public relations Innovator 25. Continuing her work in telling compelling stories of bias through short film, Crystal is part of the team that launched another short film called “The Look,” which follows a black man throughout his day as he encounters a variety of ‘looks’ that symbolize a barrier to acceptance – and differing levels of bias.
